Is a 4 Day Week for All Employees the Way Forward?
Very interesting feedback coming from the 70 businesses that are part of a 6-month trial where all employees get 100% pay for 80% of normal hours worked.
Key findings at halfway stage:
– 86% plan to keep 4 day week at end of trial
– 95% said that productivity had stayed the same or improved
– substantial cost of living benefits due to reduction in commuting and childcare costs
As a way of attracting candidates to join a business it is immense.
It will be interesting to see if the business views remain the same at the end of the full trial.
