Role: Quality Assurance/Test Engineer – Software
Location: Northamptonshire – Northampton (8 miles), Towcester (9 miles), and Milton Keynes (11 miles)

About the Role
Join my client as a Quality Assurance/Test Engineer and play a pivotal role in advancing their product development projects which aid governments in safeguarding their citizens.
In this full-time, on-site role, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working on multiple development projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating test plans, coordinating testing activities along with the Software Team Lead, and carrying out testing on a range of software products that are developed by the Software department. As we develop a blend of desktop and web applications, a successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a breadth of experience in testing applications built in different technologies.

Duties to include:
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, plan quality testing activities.
- Play a key role in the planning of implementation of test activities throughout the system life cycle.
- Contributing to the company’s overall software production.
Required/Essential Skills/Experience
- Experience in creating comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience in testing application written in different technologies.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with 3+ years in relevant technologies in industry.
- Good record keeping.
Desirable experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering or an equivalent.
- Experience in working in an Agile development team.
- Experience in using Agile development tools such as Azure Boards and JIRA.
- Experience in Dev Ops.
- Experience in building and executing test automation.
This is a permanent, full-time, office based role in the UK, near Northampton. The candidate is required to have their own transport due to the location. The successful applicant will be expected to attend the office daily as this is NOT a remote role.

Note
This role is office based, with a certain amount of flexibility for time off when necessary, but please be aware that hybrid or remote working is not being offered.
